The Onyx Studio 7 is a newer speaker that adds a second tweeter for a sharper, crisp sound and wider soundstage in theory though in live testing to the untrained ear, it has similar sound quality. The Onyx Studio 7 has a slightly higher max volume output even though both speakers output 50 watts.

The Studio 7 lacks a waterproof rating like the Onyx 6, but a futuristic design handle unlike the Onyx Studio 6's that is a built-in handle for portability.

Onyx Studio 6 produces a stronger bass, which doesn't change much in quality if you don't mind the bass effect, both speakers have a 3.5 mm aux input, and button placement on the Onyx Studio 7 is better than that of the Onyx Studio 6. The Onyx Studio 7 is a better choice for those looking for a new speaker over its older version if the prices are relatively similar.
